Steve Demos to Keynote 13th Socially Responsible Business Awards

SRBA LogoPress Release -- BALTIMORE, MD -- (June 6, 2007) –The 13th annual Socially Responsible Business Awards (SRBA) breakfast will be held on Friday, September 28, 2007, at the Baltimore Convention Center, Baltimore, MD, during Natural Products Expo East. This free event is open to all industry members.

This year’s keynote speaker will be Steve Demos. His work taking soymilk mainstream is legendary, as is the growth and influence of White Wave, the company he built with partner Pat Calhoun. Steve’s experiences and observations about the industry and socially responsible business will make for fascinating listening.

The SRBA has launched an educational website at sociallyresponsibleawards.org, which provides information on the event, including nomination criteria and nominee and sponsorship applications as well as a history of socially responsible business, lists of past SRBA winners, presenters and sponsors and a photo gallery.

Sponsorship positions are now available for the 2007 SRBA Breakfast, which aligns companies and organizations with other like-minded businesses in supporting socially responsible and sustainable business practices and creates community around these issues. Sponsorship also provides companies with a powerful opportunity to promote their own socially responsible and sustainable initiatives to the natural products industry through pre-event marketing and promotion, on-site and online recognition, and post-show, trade-media editorial coverage. Sponsorship does not preclude a company from consideration for winning the award.

Levels of sponsorship:

All co-sponsors are invited to donate food and beverage items to be served at the breakfast.

This free annual event honors the highest ideals applied to business practices. SRBA recipients demonstrate exceptional track records in ethics, accountability, governance, employment practices, business relationships, financial return, products and services, community involvement and environmental protection.  The keynote speaker is always a business leader at the forefront of the socially responsible business movement.

Golden Temple Bakery, the manufacturer of Peace Cereals, and the Yogi Tea Company organize and serve as main sponsors of the breakfast event.
